On Wednesday, September 18, Shakhtar Donetsk will start their performances in the general stage of the Champions League of the new format, and the opponent of the “miners” will be the Italian Bologna.

The match will be held at “Stadio Renato Dall’Ara” in Bologna. The starting whistle will sound at 19:45 Kyiv time.

We will remind that, starting from the 2024/2025 season, UEFA introduced a new format for the Champions League draw. The number of participants in the main stage has been increased to 36 clubs, and the classic group stage has been replaced by a single league format.

Each team will play 8 matches against different opponents (4 at home and 4 away). The best 8 clubs in the main stage go directly to the 1/8 finals, and those who take places from 9th to 24th will play head-to-head matches to reach the playoffs.
