The OGP and the SBI announced the completion of the investigation into the case of high treason against Dubinsky and 4 other people

The Prosecutor General’s Office announces the completion of the pre-trial investigation against five members of the criminal organization – a People’s Deputy of Ukraine, a former People’s Deputy, an ex-prosecutor and two heads of the Main Directorate of the Russian General Staff (known as the GRU).

They are accused of creating a criminal organization and participating in it, as well as committing treason.

“The investigation established that in 2016 the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation created a criminal organization, which later included two People’s Deputies of Ukraine, a former employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office and other persons. The organization was engaged in destabilizing the socio-political situation in Ukraine and discrediting our state in the international arena and operated as an agent network until 2022. For such activities, the members of the criminal organization received money from the General Staff of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

The OGP noted that the incumbent People’s Deputy of Ukraine carried out information and subversive activities in favor of the aggressor state, spread Russian narratives, including those about the higher political leadership of Ukraine. To spread them, the people’s deputy participated in public events.

“In November 2019, the People’s Deputies organized a joint press conference at which they disseminated information about the alleged international corruption of US officials. In this way, they tried to worsen relations between Ukraine and its strategic partner. Also, in June 2020, the former prosecutor held a joint press conference with the ex-Nardeput, at which they publicly “justified” fakes in favor of the Kremlin, including the alleged interference of Ukrainian high-ranking officials in the presidential elections in the United States,” the report says.

The prosecutor’s office clarified that on the eve of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the ex-deputy and former prosecutor fled abroad and are hiding from justice, while the current deputy is in custody.

The State Bureau of Investigation noted that the current and former people’s deputies, the former prosecutor are accused of treason as part of a criminal organization, and the first deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and his assistant are accused of creating a criminal organization and inciting treason.

The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.

According to the report, now the defense has been granted access to review the case materials, after which it will be sent to court.

The SBI reminded that together with the SBU they exposed this criminal organization in November 2023.

Neither the OGP nor the DBR do not indicate the names, but the circumstances of the case indicate that it concerns People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, ex-Nardeput Andriy Derkach, who fled abroad on the eve of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and recently became a Russian senator, ex-prosecutor Kostyantyn Kulik, first deputy chief of the Main administration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (known as the GRU) Volodymyr Alekseev and his assistant Oleksiy Savin.

The figures in the case have not yet commented on the report of the OGP and the SBI.

Dubinsky was also previously suspected in the case of traveling abroad on the basis of false information. In addition, Ukrainian law enforcement officers suspect him of organizing a scheme for the illegal departure of men abroad. The deputy stated that the SBI served him with suspicion “for criticizing Yermak and Zelenskyi.”
