Kolos – LNZ. Forecast and announcement for the match of the championship of Ukraine

On Monday, September 16, in the village The match of the sixth round of the Ukrainian Premier Football League will be held at Kovalivka Stadium, in which Kovalivka Kolos and Cherkasy LNZ will play. The starting whistle of referee Oleg Kogut from Ternopil will sound at 18:00 Kyiv time.

Ear
In the situation of the Kovaliv “Colossus”, which is a rare exception for our football, stability is evident. However, it is unlikely to suit those who support the “black and white” team. The fact is that this “stability” is a story of failures and low-performance football, and although the match in Kovalivka still manages to gather a local crowd, it attends the stadium solely for the sake of tradition.

Oleksandr Pozdeev’s team finished the first part of the season before the start of the international break without victories, which in our reality allows them to occupy places exclusively in the basement of the tournament table. The situation was worse only in one team, Obolon Kyiv, against which the “ears” started this season with a loud 2:2 draw, and then everyone thought for a moment: “Well, that happens!”. It turned out that this was just a momentary fascination – since then, “Colossus” scored as much as one goal in four games.

At the same time, in his native Kovalivka, Pozdeev’s team did not celebrate at all, so before the break we already thought whether Valery Ivashchenko’s departure from the same “Obolon” would not be the only resignation in these two weeks. But no, the management continues to give credit of trust, and therefore, it remains to wait for the resolution of this story. What’s more, “Colossus” even managed to save money on the market before the closing of the transfer window, as much as 450,000 euros! The team was strengthened by Kosovar defender Ilir Krasnichi from “Lapi” and Georgian midfielder Giorgi Moistsrapishvili from “Dynamo” Tbilisi. There is very little information about these newcomers, so, as in most cases, we will get to know each other as events unfold. But will these last-minute infusions help?

LNZ
LNZ Cherkasy was not idle on the transfer market this summer either, but here the activity was limited to high-quality preparation for the season and point strengthening, so there was no need to grab for lifelines at the last moment. In a word, the Lilacs are building a project that has yet to take off, judging by the optimistic start to the season.

But no one says that this task will be easy. In the first season in the “elite”, LNZ was engaged in what, as befits newcomers, settled more comfortably in the tournament table and stayed away from the relegation zone. At the end of the campaign, there was even a prospect of jumping into the European Cups, but that would be too much, and there would be a great risk of repeating the fate of “Colossus”, which soared sharply above all expectations, and now rolled to such a state with its ambitions.

Will a similar fate befall the LNZ project? Everything in this life is possible. However, the Spaniard Andres Carrasco, who is familiar with our football, was invited to the position of head coach not because the club managers predict failure. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the first results do not make us wait long. The victory over “Rukh” (3:1) was powerful, but the last defeat against “Dynamo” (0:1) was already an inferiority complex. They gave up their football and lost. This should probably serve as a lesson.

Meeting history
The football paths of “Colossus” and LNZ previously crossed twice in the framework of the Premier League. There is an advantage in the number of victories in favor of the club from Cherkasy – 1 successful match and another game ended in a draw. The goal difference is 2:4. LNZ’s biggest and only victory came in the last meeting in May of this year – 3:1, when goals by Vladyslav Naumets and Einel Soares, as well as an own goal by Oleksandr Chornomorets against the ball of Valery Bondarenko, brought victory to “purple” on the opponent’s field.

Themis
The main referee of the upcoming game will be 34-year-old Oleg Kogut from Ternopil, who has no matches in the “elite” division on his account. Mykhailo Yukhymenko and Yevhen Gashkov will be the side referees, and Ihor Stashuk will serve as the reserve referee. The VAR system will be present at the match, led by Maryna Streletska, who will be assisted by Volodymyr Volodin. Kogut has no experience of holding a match with the participation of both teams.
