US President Joe Biden condemned the new alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump and instructed his team to provide the Secret Service with all the necessary resources to protect the former president.

“An active investigation of this incident is currently underway, law enforcement officers are gathering more details about what happened. As I have stated repeatedly, there is no place in our country for political violence or any other form of violence, and I have directed my team to continue to ensure that the Secret Service has all the resources, capabilities, and safeguards necessary to ensure the continued safety of the former President.” said Biden’s statement.
The US president also praised the work of the Secret Service and law enforcement agencies after the assassination attempt on Trump, saying he was “relieved” to hear the former president was unharmed.
New attempt on Trump: what is known
On Sunday, September 15, the headquarters of the candidate for the presidency of the United States from the Republican Party announced that there was a shooting near Donald Trump, but he is safe.
A short time later, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office took into custody a possible suspect believed to be connected to the shooting incident.
Donald Trump himself said that he was not injured during the shooting.
As Fox News reported, citing law enforcement sources, the suspect in the shooting was identified as Ryan Wesley Root.
Root was allegedly armed with an assault rifle outside the Trump International Golf Club as the former US president played golf in the afternoon.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was allegedly able to push the muzzle of the rifle through the fence. He was 300-500 yards from Trump when the Secret Service spotted Root and opened fire. The man managed to escape, but was later arrested.
The FBI said it is treating the shooting in Florida as a possible new attempt on Trump.
