Ukraine’s National Bank Launches New Commemorative Coins Celebrating Regional Unity

The National Bank of Ukraine has introduced three new commemorative coins aimed at highlighting the unity of Ukraine and its regions. These coins are part of the series titled “We Are Strong. We Are Together,” which focuses on frontline areas of the country.

According to the bank’s press service, the newly released coins honor the regions of Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson, which are significantly impacted by ongoing conflict. Andriy Pyshnyy, the head of the National Bank, emphasized the importance of these regions, stating, “Today we are issuing three new coins dedicated to those who endure daily attacks and uphold Ukraine: the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. Each coin features a map of Ukraine, symbolizing its integrity and unity with clear administrative borders.”

Each coin has a face value of 10 hryvnias, with their obverse design matching the standard 10 hryvnia coins issued in 2018. The reverse side prominently displays a stylized map of Ukraine, outlining the specific region each coin represents.

The National Bank plans to gradually release two million of each commemorative coin into circulation. A portion of the total mintage will be packaged in special rolls containing 25 coins, with a total of 15,000 rolls produced for each design.

Background on Commemorative Coins

This latest release follows the introduction of three commemorative coins on December 1, 2025, which honored regions that were among the first to experience the effects of Russian aggression: Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk. Additionally, on November 25, the bank launched a commemorative coin celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nila Kasevych, continuing its series on notable figures in Ukraine. Just a month earlier, a coin was issued to recognize the contributions of unmanned systems in the military.

The National Bank of Ukraine has launched three new commemorative coins to celebrate regional resilience amid ongoing conflict. These coins, part of a series promoting national unity, specifically honor the frontline regions of Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson.
