A new initiative in Kyiv is providing free physical and psychological rehabilitation services to veterans, military personnel, and their families at the “Camelot” hotel. Located near the city center, this project aims to support the recovery and reintegration of those who have served in the armed forces.
Every month, approximately 1,200 individuals benefit from a range of services offered by certified rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, and social workers. These professionals utilize specialized equipment and facilities to assist in both physical and emotional recovery, catering particularly to veterans with disabilities.
The services available at the hotel include:
- Physical wellness activities such as yoga, swimming, rehabilitation exercises, and spa treatments;
- Body-oriented sessions and psychophysical recovery activities;
- Individual and group psychological consultations, available both online and in-person;
- Art therapy and restorative practices;
- Social integration and family events;
- Cultural and educational programs, including excursions.
Georgiy Dzhurko, the owner of the “Camelot” hotel and head of the NGO “Public Affairs,” explained that the hotel has established a comprehensive wellness center. All rehabilitation and reintegration programs are funded through the hotel’s own revenue.
“We provide massages, three types of baths (Finnish, hammam, and hydro-massage), a large swimming pool, and psycho-emotional recovery services. We ensure a high level of comfort, which positively impacts the mood of participants. We also facilitate reintegration through English and IT courses,” Dzhurko stated. He added that veterans only need to bring slippers and a towel, along with documentation proving their military status, to access the services. Every Thursday, the hotel offers free bathing facilities for veterans and their families.
According to Dzhurko, the project operates continuously, with gender-segregated activities to ensure a comfortable environment for all participants. “Thousands have already received support. In the last month alone, we have assisted 1,200 individuals, showing a positive growth trend of 10% monthly,” he noted.
