US President Donald Trump announced the destruction of nine Iranian naval vessels, stating that American forces are continuing their operations against Iran. This declaration was made via his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump reported, “I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian naval ships, some of which were relatively large and significant. We are pursuing others—they will soon be at the bottom of the sea.” He further claimed that a recent attack had severely damaged Iran’s naval headquarters.
In a separate statement, Trump noted, “During another attack, we largely destroyed their naval headquarters. Additionally, their fleet is doing very well!” This announcement follows a series of military actions involving both the United States and Israel against Iranian targets.
On February 28, Israel conducted an airstrike on Tehran, prompting Trump to declare that American military forces had launched a “major combat operation” against Iran. He accused the Iranian government of funding and training militant groups in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine, asserting that the objective of the operation is to dismantle Iran’s missile industry and naval capabilities to prevent regional destabilization.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded by launching missiles and drones towards Israel and attacking US military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
In light of these developments, French President Emmanuel Macron called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the situation. The European Union reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring regional security and stability in the Middle East.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the events, suggesting that it is fair to give Iranians a chance to rid themselves of a “terrorist regime” and to ensure safety for all nations affected by Iranian attacks.
On the same day, Trump claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was dead, a statement later confirmed by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). The following day, the IRGC announced the initiation of what it termed the “most destructive offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic” against Israel and American military bases. Trump warned the Iranian regime to abandon these plans, threatening a “very strong blow” in response.
President Trump has claimed the destruction of nine Iranian naval vessels amid ongoing military operations against Iran, which have drawn international attention and prompted responses from various global leaders. The situation continues to evolve as military actions escalate in the region.
