Ukrainian Volleyball Player Vasyl Tupiich Joins Romanian Club Arcada Galati

Ukrainian volleyball player Vasyl Tupiich has signed a contract with Romanian club Arcada Galati, extending through the end of the current season. Tupiich previously played for Lviv’s Barkom-Kazhany, where he spent four seasons.

During his time with Barkom-Kazhany, the team finished 11th in the Polish PlusLiga for the 2025/26 season, missing out on the playoffs but maintaining their position in the top league.

Arcada Galati, a five-time Romanian champion, currently fields two other Ukrainian players: diagonal Dmitro Shapoval and outside hitter Yan Yereshenko, both of whom have also been called up to the national team.

The club secured second place in the regular season standings with 49 points after 20 matches and is set to compete in the playoffs. Club officials are working to finalize the necessary paperwork to allow Tupiich to participate in the first playoff match.

The quarterfinals will be played in a two-match format against Craiova, with games scheduled for March 30 and April 7.

This move to Arcada Galati will provide Tupiich with valuable experience ahead of the Volleyball Nations League, which begins in June. This will mark Ukraine’s second appearance in the tournament, following their debut last year when they finished ninth in the main stage.

Throughout his career, Tupiich has played for various clubs, including Barkom-Kazhany (2022-2026), Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad (2025), and Qatar’s Qatar Sport Club (2025). He has also had stints with French teams Cambrai (2021/22), Arago de Sete (2018-2021), and Nice (2017/18), as well as with Ukrainian clubs Khimprom-SumDU, VNAU in Vinnytsia, and Kazakhstan’s Altai.

Vasyl Tupiich has joined Romanian club Arcada Galati for the remainder of the season, aiming to gain experience ahead of the Volleyball Nations League. His previous team, Barkom-Kazhany, finished 11th in the Polish league, while Arcada Galati prepares for the playoffs.
