Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed new leaders for key counterintelligence departments within the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Sergey Hunkovsky will now head the Counterintelligence Department, while Viktor Zayets has been designated as the head of the Military Counterintelligence Department.
The appointments were formalized through presidential decrees numbered 269/2026 and 270/2026, which were published on the official website of the President’s Office. Both decrees were signed by Zelensky on March 25.
