A Ukrainian partisan movement known as “Atesh” has announced the destruction of an electric locomotive in the Russian city of Oryol, aiming to disrupt the logistics of Russian forces operating in the Sumy region.
The group reported via social media that their agents successfully executed a sabotage operation at a railway junction in Oryol. They stated that a fire was set to incapacitate critical equipment on a mainline freight electric locomotive, specifically the VL80 model.
According to Atesh, the VL80 locomotive is a vital asset for Russian railways, serving as a heavy hauler for transporting military cargo. The group emphasized that this particular unit was frequently used to move equipment, ammunition, and fuel from the rear areas of Russia to the border zones, thereby reinforcing military units active in the Sumy region.
The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh has claimed responsibility for sabotaging a key electric locomotive in Russia, aiming to hinder military logistics. This operation highlights ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian supply lines amid the conflict.
