Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 201 military experts from Ukraine are currently stationed in the Middle East, with an additional 34 prepared for deployment to the Gulf region. This statement was made during his address to the UK Parliament on March 17.
Zelensky specified that Ukrainian forces are present in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, and are en route to Kuwait. He indicated that their deployment was in response to requests from international partners, including the United States, and described it as part of a broader drone agreement proposed by Kyiv to Washington.
“We are ready to offer similar agreements to all our partners, from practical cooperation in the field of drones to future defense alliances. I do not think anyone would want to leave Ukraine’s proven wartime strength and capability outside their security. And if they do, it would be unwise,” said the president.
Previously, former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Zelensky, urging him to negotiate with Russia and rejecting Ukraine’s offer to assist in intercepting Iranian drones.
Zelensky also mentioned that nearly a year ago, Ukraine proposed a comprehensive agreement to the U.S. regarding drones and the export of Ukrainian security technologies, which could involve collaboration valued at approximately $35 to $50 billion.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed the deployment of military experts to the Middle East, highlighting international partnerships and defense collaboration. This move aligns with Kyiv's strategic interests amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
