On March 19, the Ukrainian government announced the allocation of an additional 7.7 billion hryvnias to support housing initiatives for internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko shared the news via Telegram.
Of the total funds, 6.6 billion hryvnias will be directed towards the “eRecovery” program, aimed specifically at assisting displaced individuals from these regions. This funding is expected to provide housing solutions for more than 3,300 families, including veterans and individuals with disabilities due to the ongoing conflict.
Svyrydenko also mentioned that the government is offering vouchers worth up to 2 million hryvnias per person or family whose homes remain in occupied territories. These vouchers can be utilized for purchasing property on both primary and secondary markets, or for making down payments or settling mortgages on new constructions.
Applications for the “eRecovery” program under the category “Housing for IDPs from Occupied Territories” can be submitted through the Diia app, with plans to expand access to local administrative centers and notaries in the future. More information is available through their official channels.
Additionally, the government has earmarked 1.1 billion hryvnias for the construction of social rental housing, specifically for residents of Mariupol who have lost their properties due to the war. This initiative will benefit 505 displaced families.
“The government continues to secure additional funding to ensure housing for all applicants,” Svyrydenko stated.
The Ukrainian government has announced a significant financial boost for housing programs aimed at supporting internally displaced persons from occupied territories. With a focus on providing immediate housing solutions and social rental options, the initiative seeks to assist thousands of families affected by the ongoing conflict.
