The Ukrainian military reported 51 combat engagements since the start of the day, with significant artillery and mortar fire affecting several communities, including Krasny Khutir and Khrynivka in the Chernihiv region, as well as Tovstodubove, Volfyne, and others in Sumy.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two-thirds of the fighting has concentrated on three key fronts: the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions in Donetsk, and the Huliaipole area in Zaporizhzhia.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched ten offensive actions near Pleshchiivka and Rusynyi Yar, targeting the towns of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Berestok, and Novopavlivka. Three clashes are reportedly ongoing.
The Pokrovsk direction saw 14 attempts by the occupiers to displace Ukrainian forces from their positions around Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and several other locations. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled 13 of these attacks.
In the Huliaipole direction, ten assaults were recorded, particularly around Huliaipole and Zahirne, with five of these attacks still in progress. Airstrikes targeted areas including Verkhnia Terza and Huliaipole.
Fighting also continued in the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursk, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions.
On February 19, the DeepState project indicated that Russian troops had made advances near Nykhforivka east of Sloviansk and near Nelipivka southeast of Kostiantynivka, as well as in the vicinity of Zatyshok and Novyi Shakhiv on the Dobropillia salient. These areas are identified as some of the most dynamic along the front line, with frequent assaults reported daily.
According to Radio Svoboda’s Donbas.Realii project, the Russian military may be preparing for a significant new offensive this spring or summer, likely targeting the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration or the Orikhiv-Zaporizhzhia region. Analyst Kostiantyn Mashovets from the Information Resistance group suggested that this could be a final push for Russia, given its dwindling resources and escalating economic issues domestically.
As winter comes to a close, Ukrainian defenses have managed to disrupt Russian plans, launching counteroffensive operations at the intersection of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, pushing back the aggressor from Pokrovsk and further east from Orikhiv. Reports from pro-Russian channels indicate that Ukrainian advances in these areas are ongoing.
The Ukrainian military has reported a significant increase in combat activity, particularly in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as Russian forces intensify their offensive efforts. Analysts suggest that Ukraine's counteroffensive actions may disrupt Russian plans for a large-scale spring offensive.
