Ukrainian Drone Units Report Significant Strikes Against Russian Military Assets

In March 2026, Ukrainian drone units successfully targeted 143 logistics facilities, 52 command points, and 20 oil and energy sector sites belonging to the Russian military, according to General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This announcement came following a briefing on the development of drone systems, where Syrskyi noted a 29% increase in enemy personnel losses compared to February. He highlighted that, for four consecutive months since December 2025, Ukrainian drone units have been neutralizing more enemy troops than Russia has been able to recruit.

“Our drone units have been eliminating more enemy personnel than they can replace,” Syrskyi stated.

On average, these units are conducting over 11,000 combat missions daily. In March, the number of verified targets hit increased by 50% compared to February, totaling more than 150,000.

“I want to specifically mention the effectiveness of our Middle Strike capabilities, which have executed nearly 350 strikes at operational depths of 30-120 km. We have hit 143 logistics facilities, 52 command points, and 20 enemy oil and energy sites, among other targets,” he added.

Syrskyi also reported a 50% increase in missions carried out by ground robotic complexes in March compared to February. He emphasized the importance of experience sharing among combat brigades and battalions during these briefings.

“The 414th Separate Brigade of Drone Systems ‘Madyar Birds’ has made significant progress in identifying and destroying enemy drone landing sites. Notably, enemy pilot positions were suppressed by 26% more in March than in February,” Syrskyi remarked.

However, he cautioned that the Russian military is also advancing. As of early April, intelligence reports indicated that Russia has expanded its drone personnel to 101,000 troops, with plans to increase this number to 165,500 by the end of 2026.

“I have outlined tasks for the further development of our drone systems. We continue to weaken the enemy while preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers,” Syrskyi concluded.

Previously, Syrskyi mentioned that the Russian government aims to recruit an additional 409,000 military personnel in 2026.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the significant achievements of Ukrainian drone units in March 2026, highlighting increased strikes against Russian military assets and personnel losses. He also noted the growing capabilities of both Ukrainian and Russian drone forces.
