On the night of April 5, Ukrainian drone units launched attacks on the port facilities of Primorsk, specifically targeting installations associated with the Russian companies Transneft and Lukoil in the Kstovo region.
According to Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, these operations were executed by the 1st Separate Center of Special Operations, alongside pilots from the 9th Battalion “Kairós” and the 414th and 413th Operational Groups.
“We are striking with drones to impact the financial resources of the bunker-dwelling grandfather,” Brovdi stated, indicating the strategic intent behind the drone strikes.
Reports from the Leningrad region of Russia noted that 19 drones were involved in the assault, resulting in damage to a pipeline in the vicinity of the Primorsk port.
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region confirmed on the morning of April 5 that the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez refinery and the Novogorkovskaya thermal power plant sustained damage due to the drone attacks.
This incident underscores the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly concerning military operations targeting critical infrastructure.
