Ukrainian Air Defense Intercepts Multiple Russian Attacks on April 3

On April 3, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted 26 missiles and 515 drones launched by Russian military units in a widespread assault targeting critical infrastructure across the country. The attacks prompted air raid alerts in multiple regions, including Kyiv and Vinnytsia.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the offensive involved a combination of air and ground-based missiles, as well as attack drones. Radar units detected a total of 579 aerial threats, which included:

  • 10 Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Kursk and Rostov regions;
  • 25 Kh-101 cruise missiles fired from the airspace of Samara;
  • 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles from Rostov;
  • 542 attack drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas, originating from several locations in Russia, with approximately 330 identified as Shahed drones.

By 2 PM local time, Ukrainian forces had neutralized or suppressed a total of 26 missiles and 515 drones. This included:

  • 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 515 Russian drones of various types.

Reports indicate that the attacks resulted in the impact of eleven ballistic missiles and 27 strike drones across twenty locations, with debris falling in 22 areas. The situation was serious enough to trigger air raid alerts in several regions, including Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava.

The attacks have led to casualties, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine in defending against aerial assaults. As the conflict continues, the resilience of Ukrainian air defense forces remains a critical factor in mitigating damage from such coordinated strikes.
