Ukrainian Air Defense Intercepts Majority of Drones in Overnight Attack

In the early hours of March 21, Russian forces launched a significant drone assault, deploying a total of 154 strike drones, including 90 Shahed models. This information was confirmed by the Ukrainian Air Forces.

As of 08:30, preliminary reports indicated that Ukrainian air defense systems successfully intercepted or suppressed 148 of the incoming drones. However, five drones managed to strike targets across four locations, with debris from downed drones reported in seven different areas.

The defense response involved a coordinated effort from aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and drone systems operated by Ukrainian defense forces.

The assault is ongoing, with some hostile drones remaining in the airspace, according to the latest updates from the Air Forces.

A large-scale drone attack by Russian forces on March 21 resulted in the majority of drones being intercepted by Ukrainian air defense, though some strikes did occur. The coordinated defense response involved multiple military units, highlighting the ongoing aerial conflict.
