On the evening of March 1, Ukrainian forces reported a significant drone assault involving 94 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models. Air defense units successfully neutralized 84 of these drones, although some managed to hit their targets.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as of 08:00, the defense systems had intercepted or suppressed 84 hostile drones across various regions of the country, including the north, south, and east. The attacks resulted in confirmed strikes by 10 drones at four locations, with debris from the intercepted drones landing at two sites.
The drones were launched from several Russian locations, including the cities of Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Approximately 70 of the drones involved in the assault were identified as Shahed models.
Ukrainian defense operations included the use of aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. The Air Force issued a warning that the attack was ongoing, advising the public to adhere to safety protocols.
