Ukraine Receives PAC-3 Missiles from Germany as Part of Defense Support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has received PAC-3 missiles from Germany, a delivery agreed upon during the recent Ramstein meeting. This development was confirmed prior to Zelensky’s meeting with Bundestag President Julia Klöckner.

During his remarks, Zelensky stated, “Indeed, at the last Ramstein meeting, there was an agreement from partners that we would receive approximately the number of missiles you mentioned (35 missiles) for the Patriot systems, specifically PAC-3. This was not from one country; to be honest, it was from several countries. In total, it was as you said. This is one of the air defense packages that we periodically negotiate with partners. We would like more, but this is what we have received. The German portion of these missiles arrived yesterday, and we thank them for this.”

The Ramstein meeting, held on February 12, focused on defense support for Ukraine and took place at NATO headquarters in Brussels. During this session, the United Kingdom announced its largest support package to date for Ukraine, amounting to £500 million (over $680 million) aimed at enhancing air defense capabilities. Several other countries also announced their respective aid packages:

  • Germany: At least €1 billion for drone procurement and air defense projects.
  • Norway: $7 billion, part of which will be allocated for drones, air defense, and artillery.
  • Sweden: A package worth €1.2 billion.
  • Denmark: Increasing total aid to $2 billion.
  • The Netherlands, Latvia, and Estonia: Planning to allocate at least 0.25% of their GDP in support of Ukraine.
  • The Netherlands: Announced a contribution of €90 million for PURL.
  • Spain: Will provide $1.2 billion.
  • Belgium: Committed to €1 billion.
  • Lithuania: $265 million.
  • Canada: Will separately fund military and medical needs.
  • Australia: Announced a new contribution to the PURL initiative.
  • Portugal: Reported contributions to PURL and the “Czech initiative,” as well as the transfer of armored vehicles and drones under the SAFE program.
  • Turkey: Will enhance Ukraine’s air defense with its own contribution.
  • Slovenia: Announced a $5 million aid package.

Ukraine has received PAC-3 missiles from Germany, part of a broader defense support initiative involving multiple countries. This follows a recent Ramstein meeting where significant aid packages were announced by various nations to bolster Ukraine's military capabilities.
