The Ukrainian government has announced a new financial support initiative aimed at assisting pensioners and other vulnerable groups. Starting in April, nearly 13 million individuals will receive a one-time payment of 1,500 UAH, which will be distributed automatically without the need for additional applications.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that this program targets citizens with low income levels, including elderly pensioners, individuals with disabilities, low-income families, internally displaced persons, large families, and single mothers.
The government emphasized that the initiative is designed to provide essential support to those who need it most. Svyrydenko stated, “Funds will be credited automatically through the same mechanisms that people currently use to receive pensions and social payments—either to bank accounts or via Ukrposhta. No applications or additional requests are required.”
On March 12, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced new support programs for Ukrainians, which include the 1,500 UAH payment for pensioners and social aid recipients, as well as a compensation scheme for vehicle owners to offset fuel costs.
Earlier in the day, Svyrydenko also revealed that the Cabinet of Ministers approved a program called “Cashback for Fuel,” which will allow Ukrainians to receive partial compensation for fuel expenses at participating gas stations starting March 20.
The Ukrainian government is set to provide a one-time financial aid of 1,500 UAH to nearly 13 million vulnerable citizens, including pensioners and low-income families. This initiative aims to offer essential support without requiring additional applications from recipients.
