U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Hezbollah Financing Network

The United States has enacted sanctions targeting an international network involved in money laundering and fundraising for the Lebanese group Hezbollah. This announcement was made by Tommy Pigott, deputy spokesperson for the U.S. State Department.

The newly imposed restrictions are directed at individuals and entities that have facilitated the financial operations of Hezbollah through a complex system of companies and projects operating across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Pigott stated that the aim of these sanctions is to disrupt the financial channels that enable Hezbollah to generate revenue for its terrorist activities and to evade existing sanctions.

“Hezbollah’s reckless attack on Israel once again demonstrates that it prioritizes terrorism on behalf of the Iranian regime over peace and security for the Lebanese people. Hezbollah continues to spend millions on terrorism, leaving Lebanese civilians to face the consequences and depriving them of a normal life. By targeting Hezbollah’s financial partners, the Trump administration is taking decisive action to undermine the group’s ability to threaten the security of the U.S. and the Middle East,”

he remarked.

On March 11, Hezbollah launched over a hundred rockets into Israel, resulting in casualties. The group has claimed its participation in the American-Israeli-Iranian conflict on the side of Iran.

The U.S. has introduced sanctions against a network supporting Hezbollah's financial activities, aiming to disrupt its funding sources amid ongoing regional tensions. This move follows a recent rocket attack by Hezbollah on Israel, highlighting the group's ongoing military engagement.
