Severe Weather Forecast for Ukraine on February 15-16

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning for adverse weather conditions expected on February 15 and 16. The forecast includes heavy snowfall, wet snow accumulation, icy roads, fog, and strong winds across various regions.

On February 15, significant snowfall and wet snow are anticipated in the western and northern parts of the country. Road conditions may deteriorate due to ice formation. In the Cherkasy and Poltava regions, a mix of rain and wet snow is expected, while southern and southwestern areas will experience fog with visibility ranging from 200 to 500 meters. Wind gusts of 15 to 20 meters per second are forecasted in the Carpathians and southern regions, classified as a yellow level of danger.

As for February 16, overnight snowfall is projected in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions, with rain accompanying the snow in Sumy. The Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions are also expected to see significant precipitation, predominantly in the form of rain, maintaining the yellow level of danger.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has warned of severe weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and icy roads, affecting multiple regions on February 15 and 16. Residents are advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and hazardous travel conditions.
