A recent wave of attacks in Zaporizhzhia has resulted in injuries to a woman and ten police officers, according to local law enforcement reports.
Over the past day, Russian forces launched 853 strikes across 40 locations in the Zaporizhzhia region. The assaults included the deployment of 654 drones, primarily FPV types, 18 airstrikes, four rocket artillery strikes, and 177 artillery shellings, as detailed by the police.
One of the notable incidents involved a guided bomb strike on Maryanivka, injuring a 67-year-old resident. Additionally, a drone attack in Novooleksandrivka left ten police personnel wounded.
The attacks have led to damage to both private and multi-apartment buildings, agricultural structures, residential areas, vehicles, and infrastructure. Investigative teams from the police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have been deployed to the affected sites. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for all reported war crimes under Article 438, Part 1 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
Ukrainian authorities and international organizations have classified these assaults as war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, emphasizing their deliberate nature.
The targeting of essential services and healthcare facilities aims to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, medical assistance, and other vital living conditions, which has been described as genocidal behavior.
In contrast, Russian leadership denies that its military is intentionally striking civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, asserting that such claims are unfounded.
Recent attacks in Zaporizhzhia have led to civilian and police injuries, with authorities labeling the strikes as war crimes. The ongoing violence has raised concerns over targeted assaults on essential services.
