On April 5, three individuals were injured in the Kharkiv region due to drone strikes attributed to Russian forces, according to local prosecutors. The attacks resulted in damage to residential properties and prompted medical assistance for the affected individuals.
In the village of Lisne, a private residence was struck by what is believed to be a “Geran” type drone, injuring the 46-year-old homeowner who subsequently sought medical help. The incident occurred in the morning, highlighting the ongoing conflict’s impact on civilian life.
Approximately at 09:45, another drone attack in the settlement of Slatyne damaged a residential building, injuring a woman. Local authorities confirmed that the type of drone used in this instance is still being determined.
Later in the day, around 11:10, a drone strike in the city of Chuhuiv hit an outbuilding, causing a fire. A 56-year-old woman received medical attention on-site for acute stress reaction, as remnants of a V2U type drone were discovered during the investigation.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Russian military forces targeted the city with drones, resulting in injuries to two women. Damage assessments indicated shattered windows in nearby multi-storey buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional military administration, noted that a “Shahed” drone struck the ground near a residential building, causing damage to window glazing and injuring a 61-year-old woman, also diagnosed with acute stress reaction.
According to Terekhov, the attacks affected six multi-apartment buildings, resulting in broken windows, damaged roofs, a disrupted gas line, and impaired sewage systems.
Russian military forces have consistently targeted Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, and rocket artillery. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature.
Strikes on essential services and healthcare facilities are viewed as attempts to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, raising concerns about potential genocidal actions.
The Russian government denies that its military intentionally targets civilian infrastructure during the ongoing conflict, asserting that it does not aim to harm the civilian population or destroy hospitals, schools, and critical utilities.
