Russian Drone Strike in Nikopol Leaves Casualties

On the morning of April 7, Russian forces targeted a civilian bus in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, using an FPV drone. The attack resulted in fatalities and injuries among passengers and bystanders.

According to regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha, three individuals were confirmed dead by 9:20 AM, with twelve others sustaining injuries. The victims included bus passengers and local residents waiting at a bus stop.

“This was not a random strike. It is a deliberate act of terror against civilians. Against people who were simply going about their business,” stated the official.

Regional council head Mykola Lukashuk reported that the deceased included two women and one man.

By 10:10 AM, the regional prosecutor’s office updated the number of injured to fifteen, noting that the drone strike occurred around 8:20 AM.

In response to the increased shelling in Nikopol, local authorities have restricted public transportation. Mayor Oleksandr Sayuk announced that bus services would be reduced and operate without adhering to established schedules due to the heightened threat to areas with significant gatherings.

“The security situation remains unstable, making it impossible to predict the exact schedule for transportation at this time,” the mayor added.

A drone strike by Russian forces in Nikopol has resulted in multiple casualties, prompting local authorities to restrict public transportation due to safety concerns. The attack underscores ongoing tensions and the risks faced by civilians in the region.
