The local energy provider, Chernihivoblenergo, reported that essential infrastructure was damaged, prompting emergency repair efforts that will commence as soon as safety conditions allow.
“Due to the hostile attack, a critical energy facility in the Nizhyn district has been compromised, leading to widespread outages,” the company noted.
In Chernihiv, the disruption has led to the temporary suspension of all trolleybus services. Buses are currently operating on routes 2 and 11 to accommodate commuters. The city council indicated that trolleybus operations would resume once power is restored.
