Recent military actions by Russia targeting energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine have resulted in the shutdown of the Isaccea–Vulcănești power line in Moldova. This line serves as a crucial conduit for electricity exports to Romania.
The Moldovan Ministry of Energy confirmed the disruption, which is attributed to the ongoing conflict affecting the region’s energy systems. However, there have been no reports of power outages in local communities.
Technical teams from three energy operators are currently conducting necessary inspections, which are expected to take several hours. The situation is being monitored closely, given that a similar disconnection at the end of January led to a significant blackout across the area.
The recent Russian military strikes have caused a power line in Moldova to shut down, impacting electricity exports to Romania. While local communities remain unaffected by power outages, technical inspections are underway to assess the situation.
