In the past 24 hours, Russian military actions have led to the deaths of four individuals and injured 27 others across several Ukrainian regions, including Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson. These figures have been confirmed by local military administrations.
On March 24, a resident of the Donetsk region was killed in Druzhkivka, while four others sustained injuries. According to Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, the situation remains dire.
In Dnipropetrovsk, Russian forces launched over ten attacks on three districts using drones and artillery. An 18-year-old girl was injured in the Nikopol community, and a 59-year-old man was hurt in the Novooleksandrivka community of the Dnipro district.
Zaporizhia reported two fatalities and 13 injuries due to Russian strikes on the city and surrounding areas. In Kherson, one person died, and eight others were reported injured.
Russian military operations continue to target Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure with various types of weaponry, including drones, missiles, and artillery systems. The 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by the UN General Assembly, obligates signatory nations to prevent and punish acts of genocide during both wartime and peacetime. Currently, 149 countries are parties to this convention.
The convention defines genocide as actions intended to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Key indicators of genocide include the killing of group members, causing serious bodily or mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions calculated to bring about a group’s destruction, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children from one group to another.
Despite these allegations, Russian leadership denies that its military is deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, asserting that it does not engage in actions that result in civilian casualties or the destruction of hospitals, schools, and essential utilities.
