Polish authorities are expecting expert assessments by mid-April that will confirm the type and number of drones that entered the country on September 9-10, 2025. This information is crucial for the ongoing investigation into the incident, which is believed to involve Russian “Gerber” drones.
Investigators are currently analyzing debris collected from 24 locations, including a recently discovered drone in a mine near Konin, which is thought to have entered Poland during the same timeframe. The findings will clarify the nature of the drones that crossed into Polish airspace and the extent of their threat, particularly regarding whether they were armed.
Additionally, the prosecution is awaiting confirmation regarding the cause of damage to the roof of a private house in Wyrki, near Lublin. Preliminary investigations suggest that the damage may have resulted from a failed missile launch from a fighter jet targeting one of the drones.
On September 9-10, coinciding with a large-scale attack by Russia on Ukraine, around twenty drones resembling the Russian “Gerber” were reported to have entered Polish airspace. Most of these drones fell within the Lublin Voivodeship, although some reached central regions of the country. During this event, Polish and allied forces engaged and shot down several drones identified as direct threats.
