As Ukraine marks the 1,489th day of resistance against Russia’s full-scale invasion, significant military developments have occurred. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated potential progress in prisoner exchanges, suggesting that diplomatic efforts may be yielding results.
On March 22, Russian forces launched a series of attacks across the Zaporizhzhia region, executing 821 strikes that impacted 40 populated areas. These assaults resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to three others, as reported by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“Three people have died, and another three have been injured due to Russian attacks in the Zaporizhzhia district,” the report stated.
The scale of the bombardment underscores the ongoing volatility in the region, with civilian areas bearing the brunt of the violence.
In Znam’yanka, Kirovohrad Oblast, a drone attack led to injuries for a woman and a man. Local officials, including OVA head Andriy Raikovych, noted that residential buildings were damaged in both Znam’yanka and nearby Oleksandriya. Assessments of the damage are underway.
Further reports indicate that Kropyvnytskyi also experienced a drone strike, with local sources confirming the sound of explosions in the area.
Additionally, Russian forces targeted Kryvyi Rih, resulting in injuries to two individuals and igniting a fire, according to Oleksandr Hanchak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
