The Supervisory Board of Naftogaz Ukraine convened for its inaugural meeting on March 12, 2026, in Kyiv, establishing new leadership and committees. Canadian expert Duncan Nightingale, boasting over 30 years in the oil and gas sector, has been appointed as the chair, with Konstantin Maryevich, a representative of the government, serving as vice-chair.
During the meeting, all board members were present in person. The board has decided to form three committees: the Committee on Appointments, Remuneration, and Evaluation, led by Robert Sleshynskyi, which also includes Nightingale and Maryevich; the Audit and Finance Committee, headed by Erik Rasmussen, with members Tor Martin Anfinnsen and Anna Artemenko; and the Strategy and Sustainable Development Committee, also led by Anfinnsen, including Rasmussen and Artemenko.
Additionally, the Supervisory Board approved a schedule for meetings throughout 2026 and addressed several operational matters. Earlier in March, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the formation of the new board, which includes four international experts and two state representatives. The selection process was described as open and competitive, focusing on the professional qualifications of candidates.
Furthermore, the government is concurrently working on updating the supervisory boards of other key Ukrainian energy companies.
