Melania Trump Denies Links to Jeffrey Epstein Amid Ongoing Controversy

Melania Trump has firmly rejected any associations with financier Jeffrey Epstein, who has faced allegations of sexual exploitation of minors. In a recent video statement, she labeled claims of her involvement as “lies” that should be put to rest immediately.

In her address, the First Lady emphasized that she has never had a friendship with Epstein or his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. She clarified that her introduction to her husband, Donald Trump, occurred by chance in 1998, unrelated to Epstein.

Melania Trump asserted that she has never been a witness in any cases connected to Epstein and stated that her name has not appeared in court documents, victim testimonies, or FBI materials. She also mentioned that she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, nor did she ever visit his private island or utilize his private jet.

She pointed out that several media outlets and public figures have already been compelled to publicly apologize and retract false statements regarding her.

Furthermore, Melania Trump called on the U.S. Congress to conduct open hearings featuring women who suffered due to Epstein’s actions. She stressed the importance of allowing these victims to share their stories publicly under oath, stating, “Each of them should have the opportunity to tell their story publicly if they wish. Only then will we learn the truth.”

Background on Jeffrey Epstein’s Case

Jeffrey Epstein had significant connections with high-profile figures in American politics and entertainment. For years, he faced suspicions of sex trafficking minors but managed to evade serious charges until a renewed investigation in July 2019 led to his arrest in New York.

He was charged with sexual assault and involving minors in prostitution. Following his arrest, Prince Andrew temporarily stepped back from royal duties and ceased public appearances.

Epstein was found dead in his jail cell on August 10, 2019, with the official ruling being suicide. Two jail staff members responsible for monitoring him admitted to sleeping and browsing the internet during their shift, despite being required to check on him every 30 minutes. They later confessed to providing false testimony and reached a deal with prosecutors.

Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s confidante, was arrested in the summer of 2020. Prosecutors allege that she acted as Epstein’s accomplice, luring underage girls and facilitating sexual encounters with him. On December 29, 2021, a New York court found Maxwell guilty of aiding Epstein in the sexual abuse of minors.

Revelations from Epstein’s Files and Trump’s Position

On November 12, 2025, the U.S. House Oversight Committee released 20,000 pages of private correspondence from the late Jeffrey Epstein, which included mentions of President Donald Trump. Notably, Epstein indicated that Trump spent several hours with one of the trafficking victims at his residence in April 2011.

The White House responded by dismissing the released documents as “fake” and an attempt to discredit President Trump. Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated that Trump had expelled Epstein from his club and was not involved in Epstein’s crimes.

On November 17, Trump encouraged House Republicans to vote for the release of Epstein’s files to counter what he termed a “Democratic deception.” The House supported this initiative the following day, with a nearly unanimous vote of 427 to 1, despite Trump’s earlier opposition to the release.

On November 19, Trump signed a bill previously approved by the House, mandating the Justice Department to disclose all non-secret documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Melania Trump has publicly denied any links to Jeffrey Epstein, calling false claims about her involvement 'lies.' She urged Congress to hold hearings for Epstein's victims while emphasizing her lack of connection to the financier.
