Intense Fighting Reported on Eastern Front in Ukraine

On March 16, Ukrainian military reports indicated that there were 152 combat engagements along the front lines, with 28 of these occurring in the Kostiantynivka direction.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russian forces launched a missile strike using one missile and conducted 51 airstrikes, deploying 145 guided bombs. Additionally, they utilized 6,232 kamikaze drones and executed 2,884 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian forces carried out 68 shelling attacks against Ukrainian positions. The South-Slobozhansky direction saw two assaults on Ukrainian strongholds, while the Kupiansk direction experienced eight attacks.

Ukrainian defenders repelled nine assaults in the Lyman direction, and the Sloviansk direction witnessed nine attempts by Russian troops to advance. In the Kramatorsk direction, there was one attempt to improve the aggressor’s positions.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched 28 assaults against Ukrainian defenders. The Pokrovsk direction experienced 21 attacks, while there were four attempts to strengthen positions in the Oleksandrivka direction. The Hulyaipole direction recorded 20 assaults by occupying forces.

Recent reports from the Ukrainian military detail significant combat activity on March 16, highlighting numerous assaults and airstrikes by Russian forces across various fronts. The Kostiantynivka direction was particularly active, with multiple attacks on Ukrainian positions.
