Intense Fighting Continues on Multiple Fronts in Ukraine

As of today, Ukrainian armed forces reported 194 combat encounters across various fronts, highlighting the ongoing intensity of the conflict.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nearly a quarter of these clashes occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian troops launched 54 attacks. These assaults targeted areas around the settlements of Rodynske, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Ivanivka, and Filiya, as well as nearby locations including Kucheryv Yar, Dorožne, Novyi Donbas, Hryshyne, Novopidhirne, Novopavlivka, and Novooleksandrivka. Some fighting in these areas is still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces conducted 29 attacks, focusing on the regions of Huliaipole, Zahirne, Dorožnianka, and advancing toward Zaliznychne and Staroukrainka. Four clashes in this area are still active.

The Kostyantynivka direction saw 16 assaults today, with the enemy targeting Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kleban-Bik, Pleshchiyivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiyivka, as well as areas around Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Novopavlivka, and Stepaniivka.

Combat operations are also ongoing in the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursk, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions.

The Pokrovsk direction remains the most active in terms of Russian assaults, as noted by the General Staff.

On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Small groups of Russian soldiers are attempting to infiltrate the northern areas of both cities. He emphasized that due to the active defense efforts, Ukrainian forces have thwarted another attempt by Russian invaders to seize these settlements.

Fighting in Pokrovsk has been ongoing since October 2025, when Russian forces managed to break into the city after months of conflict at its outskirts. Shortly thereafter, Russian soldiers were also reported in the neighboring city of Myrnohrad.

The conflict in Ukraine remains intense, with 194 combat encounters reported today across various fronts, particularly in the Pokrovsk area. Ukrainian forces are actively defending against Russian assaults, which have intensified in recent weeks.
