Hungary Detains Ukrainian Bank Employees Amid Cash Transport Incident

The Hungarian government has released footage showing the detention of Ukrainian cash transport vehicles and their crew members by counter-terrorism officials. The incident occurred during daylight hours on Thursday, March 5, at a gas station.

The video reveals the moment when passengers from the Ukrainian armored vehicles were apprehended. Additionally, authorities displayed the cash and gold bars seized from the vehicles.

Earlier on Friday, officials announced plans to expel seven Ukrainian cash transporters detained by Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Administration. The National Bank of Ukraine was the first to report the capture of the Ukrainian crew and the significant amount of currency involved.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha condemned the actions, labeling them as “terrorism and hostage-taking.” The ministry has advised Ukrainian citizens to refrain from traveling to Hungary in light of these events.

The Hungarian government has detained a group of Ukrainian bank employees during a cash transport operation, prompting strong condemnation from Ukraine's Foreign Ministry. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Ukrainian nationals traveling to Hungary.
