A fragment of a missile has been found in the village of Jarosławki, located in Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship. The discovery, reported by Polsat News, was made on April 10 in an orchard.
The military police have indicated that the fragment is likely from a missile used to counter Russian drones during an incursion on the night of September 9-10, 2025. The area has been cordoned off as investigations continue, although military officials have stated that there is no immediate threat to public safety.
On the night of September 10, Russian drones violated Polish airspace, prompting a military operation to neutralize them. This marked the first instance of Polish forces successfully downing targets within its territory. Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about the situation, asserting that Poland would not impose additional restrictions.
According to Tusk, Polish forces managed to intercept approximately four out of the 19 drones that breached its airspace. One drone reportedly caused damage to a house and a vehicle in the village of Wyrki-Wola in the Lublin Voivodeship, while debris from other drones was located in several nearby communities. A NATO meeting is scheduled to discuss the incident further.
The Kremlin has refrained from commenting on the matter; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that drones with a range of 700 kilometers were used during the attack on Ukraine, suggesting that they may have crossed into Polish territory. They expressed willingness to engage in consultations with the Polish Ministry of Defense regarding the incident.
A missile fragment was discovered in Jarosławki, Poland, following a drone incursion by Russian forces. The Polish military successfully intercepted several drones, prompting discussions at NATO regarding the incident.
