Estonian Foreign Minister Predicts Decline of Putin’s Allies

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has expressed concerns about the dwindling number of allies supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting that North Korea and China may be next in line for potential upheaval.

In a recent statement, Tsahkna remarked that many of Putin’s allies are either deceased, imprisoned, or otherwise sidelined, indicating a significant decline in Putin’s influence. “The remaining ones are North Korea, China, and a few others. The overall message, without joking, is that Putin’s authority is diminishing,” he stated.

His comments follow a series of recent political shifts, including the removal of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, who is currently awaiting trial in a New York detention center, and the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei due to an airstrike. Additionally, last year saw the ousting of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad amid ongoing conflict.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas echoed Tsahkna’s sentiments regarding the implications of Khamenei’s death, noting that the reduction of Putin’s allies is a positive development. “It certainly makes sense. Maduro, who was part of Putin’s ‘friends club,’ is gone. The farther nuclear capabilities and other significant military resources are from such dictatorial regimes, the better,” Kallas commented.

However, a recent poll indicated that only about 27% of Americans approve of the U.S. operations in Iran. President Donald Trump has acknowledged the potential for increased military casualties in the ongoing operations against Iran, suggesting that the conflict could extend over the next four weeks.

Estonian officials are raising alarms about the diminishing circle of allies surrounding Vladimir Putin, citing recent political changes in various countries. The removal of key figures like Nicolás Maduro and Ali Khamenei has led to discussions about the implications for global stability and security.
