Alexander Brechalov, the head of the Udmurt Republic, addressed the situation in a video statement on Telegram, acknowledging the attack by Ukrainian forces. He did not provide further details regarding the extent of the damage or the casualties.
Prior to Brechalov’s announcement, the ASTRA news channel reported explosions in the city of Votkinsk, where the military facility is located. The Votkinsk plant is known for manufacturing Iskander-M and Topol-M missiles, and it is currently under sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.
According to ASTRA’s analysis, the attack specifically targeted the Votkinsk plant, which has been a focal point in the ongoing conflict. The channel also noted that some sources indicated the strike may have involved Flamingo missiles rather than drones.
In a related development, Denis Shteyerman, co-owner of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, shared a video on social media showing missile launches, stating, “Here is a small video. Without context. Context will follow later.” Fire Point is known for its production of kamikaze drones and Flamingo cruise missiles.
