On the night of April 11, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Krymsk, located in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, due to debris from a drone, according to local authorities. The incident follows a series of drone attacks in the region.
Emergency services reported that the fire was extinguished by morning, utilizing 29 units of firefighting equipment. Alongside the fire at the oil depot, reports indicated that drone fragments also damaged residential buildings and fell onto the premises of an unidentified warehouse, igniting another fire.
Ukrainian Telegram channels claimed that the Krymsk Linear Production Dispatch Station, part of Russia’s oil pipeline system operated by Transneft, was targeted again during the night. This follows a pattern of drone activity in the area, which has seen increased military engagement.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it intercepted and shot down 99 Ukrainian drones over various territories, including Krasnodar Krai, Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga, Kursk regions, occupied Crimea, and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
This incident is part of a broader context of escalating drone warfare, with Krasnodar Krai experiencing significant attacks in recent days. Notably, on the night of April 9, the region was subjected to a large-scale drone assault, with the most intense explosions reported around Krymsk.
