In the early hours of February 21, the Udmurt Republic in Russia experienced a drone attack that reportedly targeted a military factory known for producing Iskander missiles.
Alexander Brechalov, the head of the Udmurt Republic, announced the incident via a video message on Telegram, confirming that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were behind the drone strike. He noted that there were casualties, although he did not disclose specific numbers.
Prior to Brechalov’s announcement, local residents in the city of Votkinsk reported hearing explosions, as noted by the ASTRA channel.
ASTRA’s analysis indicates that the attack struck the Votkinsk Plant, a facility involved in the production of Iskander-M, Topol-M, and Oreshnik missiles. This defense enterprise is currently under sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine, among others.
