Commander of Ukrainian Artillery Brigade Suspended Over Misconduct Allegations

The commander of the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade, Yaroslav Lysenko, has been suspended amid allegations of abuse of power. This decision was made by the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv during a session on March 19.

According to court documents obtained by Ukrainian media, the judge ruled to suspend Lysenko from his position until May 11, 2026. The ruling can be appealed within five days of its announcement, and it will take effect after this period unless an appeal is filed.

The full text of the court’s decision is set to be released on March 23. The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the court’s decision to suspend Lysenko was made at their request.

Investigators allege that Lysenko misused his authority by directing military personnel to engage in repair work instead of fulfilling their military duties. Reports indicate that since September 2024, he had enlisted seven servicemen to carry out construction and repair tasks at properties belonging to his relatives and himself.

On March 17, a court-set bail of 449,000 hryvnias was posted for Lysenko, leading to his release from custody.

Yaroslav Lysenko, commander of the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade, has been suspended by a Kyiv court due to allegations of misconduct involving military personnel. The investigation claims he misused his position for personal gain, directing soldiers to perform repair work on private properties.
