Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed a willingness to accept nuclear weapons from France and the United Kingdom, responding to recent claims from Russia regarding Ukraine’s intentions to acquire such arms.
In a statement, Zelensky remarked, “I would gladly accept nuclear weapons from the United Kingdom and France, but such offers have not yet been made.” His comments come amid ongoing tensions and accusations from Russia.
On February 24, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service alleged that Britain and France were attempting to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons or so-called ‘dirty bombs,’ although no evidence was provided to support this assertion.
Additionally, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, warned that Russia might resort to using nuclear weapons against the UK, France, and Ukraine if deemed necessary. This statement aligns with remarks made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who suggested during a recent meeting of the FSB that Ukraine might utilize nuclear capabilities against Russia.
