U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegset has responded to media reports regarding Russia providing Iran with intelligence on American troop movements in the Middle East and beyond.
Hegset emphasized that the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation, stating, “We track everything and incorporate it into our combat plans.”
He assured the American public that their commander-in-chief is well aware of the ongoing communications between nations.
Furthermore, Hegset remarked,
“Anything that should not happen, whether publicly or through back channels, faces serious consequences.”
When questioned about whether dialogue with Russia could halt their involvement in conflicts, he noted that former President Trump possesses unique relationships with global leaders, which he believes could achieve results that current leaders, including Joe Biden, have not.
In addressing concerns about the risks posed to American personnel by Russian involvement, Hegset stated, “We endanger other guys, and that’s our job. So, we’re not worried about that… The only ones who need to be concerned right now are the Iranians thinking they will survive.”
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegset has confirmed that the U.S. is actively monitoring Russian intelligence sharing with Iran regarding American military movements. He reassured the public of the administration's awareness and readiness to address potential threats.
