On the occasion of National Guard Day in Ukraine, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko presented awards to soldiers from the Azov Battalion, part of the National Guard of Ukraine. The ceremony took place during a Kyiv City Council meeting, where Klitschko recognized the service of 11 military personnel with the “Sign of Honor” and the “Honor. Glory. State” medals.
In his remarks, Klitschko expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their bravery and commitment to defending Ukraine. He stated, “Military personnel carry out combat missions daily, risking their lives to ensure that Ukraine remains free and democratic. They continue to fight for our European future. We thank our defenders for their valor and honor the memory and deeds of fallen heroes.”
The awards were part of a broader recognition of the National Guard’s contributions, as Klitschko had previously met with National Guard members and representatives from military educational institutions to present additional accolades on behalf of the city.
