Following the recent incursion of Ukrainian drones into Finnish airspace, the Finnish government has stated it will not impose any restrictions on Ukraine’s military actions against Russia’s oil sector. This announcement comes after several drones reportedly fell in southeastern Finland.
Finnish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, emphasized that while the country prioritizes the safety of its citizens, it recognizes Ukraine’s right to defend itself. “Finland is not making any demands regarding the targets Ukraine chooses to engage in Russia,” she remarked.
On March 29, multiple drones entered Finnish airspace and subsequently crashed near the town of Kouvola, close to the Russian border. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo confirmed that the drones were indeed Ukrainian. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the drones did not require interception as they fell on their own.
Finland has clarified that it will not restrict Ukraine's military actions following the entry of Ukrainian drones into its airspace. The government acknowledges Ukraine's right to self-defense while ensuring the safety of its own citizens.
