Ukraine has officially received its initial payment of $1.5 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of a new four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, according to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on March 3.
The funds will be allocated to support priority budget expenditures and maintain macro-financial stability, Svyrydenko noted in her social media updates. The total value of the EFF program amounts to $8.1 billion.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, Ukraine has secured a total of $14.9 billion in financial assistance from the IMF, as reported by the Prime Minister. She expressed gratitude to international partners for their trust and support during these challenging times.
“We continue to implement agreed reforms aimed at preserving macroeconomic stability, strengthening state institutions, and advancing our course towards European integration,” Svyrydenko added.
In February, the IMF’s Board of Directors approved the new four-year funding program for Ukraine, which is set at $8.1 billion.
Ukraine's government has secured its first tranche of $1.5 billion from the IMF under a new funding program, aimed at bolstering the national budget and macroeconomic stability. This financial support is part of a broader initiative that totals $8.1 billion, reflecting ongoing international assistance amid the ongoing conflict.
