On Sunday, February 15, power outages will persist across most regions of Ukraine, following a schedule due to ongoing energy constraints. Additionally, there will be power limitations for industrial consumers.
According to a statement from the energy company, hourly power outages and capacity restrictions will be implemented throughout the day in many areas. The company attributed these measures to the repercussions of recent Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Ukrenergo also cautioned that the situation within the energy system remains fluid, urging citizens to check official regional energy provider websites for updates on the timing and extent of outages.
The company emphasized, “When electricity is available according to the schedule, please use it sparingly,” in its communication.
In related developments, President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at an event in Munich, noted that Russian attacks have damaged all power stations in Ukraine. Despite significant damage to the energy sector, Ukraine continues to generate electricity, a feat attributed to the efforts of energy workers, physical security measures, and support from international partners in air defense.
Currently, the most challenging conditions for electricity supply are not only in Kyiv but also in several other regions. Due to extensive damage to the networks, energy providers are compelled to impose restrictions.
Experts predict that stabilization of the energy system could occur by April, as the load on the networks is expected to decrease. This improvement may be aided by the stabilization of the energy system and the conclusion of the heating season.
Ukraine faces ongoing power outages as a result of Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. Despite significant damage, the country continues to generate electricity, with expectations for stabilization by April.
