Ukraine Receives First Tranche of $1.5 Billion from IMF

Ukraine has received its initial disbursement of $1.5 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of a new four-year program under the Extended Fund Facility.

The funds are earmarked for priority budget expenditures and to bolster macroeconomic stability, according to Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko. The total value of the program amounts to $8.1 billion, aimed at providing significant financial support amid ongoing economic challenges.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, Ukraine has secured a total of $14.9 billion in financial assistance from the IMF. Svyrydenko emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing agreed-upon reforms that focus on maintaining macroeconomic stability, strengthening state institutions, and advancing European integration.

Ukraine has received $1.5 billion from the IMF, part of an $8.1 billion program aimed at supporting the country's budget and economic stability. This funding is crucial as Ukraine continues to navigate the financial challenges posed by the ongoing conflict.
