The city of Slavutych in Kyiv Oblast experienced a significant power outage on March 25 due to a morning attack by Russian forces. Approximately 21,000 residents were left without electricity as a result of the strike.
Local authorities reported that the attack targeted energy infrastructure, aiming to disrupt daily life for the residents. “The enemy is once again trying to weaken us, deliberately striking at energy resources and the normal life of people,” stated local official Kalyashnyk.
In the aftermath of the attack, efforts to restore electricity were promptly initiated. Energy workers are currently engaged in repairing the damaged infrastructure.
Critical facilities have been switched to backup power sources, ensuring that heating and water supply services remain operational. Social institutions are functioning with the aid of generators.
Despite the power outage, communication and internet services continue to be available. Emergency shelters have been established and are prepared to accommodate residents in need.
City officials are working diligently to stabilize the situation and provide assistance to the affected population.
