Ukrainian Forces Target Enemy Air Defense Systems in Zaporizhia and Kherson Regions

In the early hours of Friday, March 6, Ukrainian drone units successfully struck four self-propelled air defense components located in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

According to reports, the Buk missile system in the Kherson region and the medium-range S-300V system in Zaporizhia were hit by the 9th Battalion ‘Kairos’ of the 414th Brigade using the domestically produced FP-2 middle strike drone, which carries a payload of 60 kg.

Additionally, the ‘Madyar’ unit detailed that the Pantsir-S1 and Tor air defense systems were also targeted by pilots from the 1st Separate Center, employing the FP-2 drone with a 100 kg warhead.

Both air defense systems were situated in the temporarily occupied area of Zaporizhia.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Ukrainian defenders to eliminate costly enemy military equipment and aviation through drone operations.

Recently, Ukrainian forces reported the destruction of Russian helicopters, including Ka-52 and Mi-8 models. Furthermore, enemy air defense systems near Mariupol and Donetsk were also taken out.

In another development, the ‘Madyar’ unit confirmed the destruction of a Russian Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system at a firing position in the occupied part of Zaporizhia.

Ukrainian drone units have effectively targeted and destroyed key enemy air defense systems in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. This operation underscores the ongoing strategy to neutralize costly military assets of the occupying forces.
